Villa Olmeda, Spain

Posted on

A review of the Villa Olmeda site in Spain that someone who has been there recently, definitely sounds worth visiting.
I visited La Olmeda in northern Spain, the other week.
It is an unbelievable site with such extensive mosaics it takes your breath away. The villa was the central building in what was a huge farming area and the mosaics were mainly constructed in the 4th century. They were discovered in 1968 and the Spanish have made a tremendous achievement to preserve the site under cover and access walkways over the mosaic floors.
The quality of the mosaic work is outstanding!
Well worth a visit for anyone visiting that part of Spain.'
