Border design

117_0081A quick design I did for someone who wanted a border set out for a mosaic. They chose a triple strand guilloche. It's quite a small area, only 110cm x 90cm so it would be quite tight. The drawing is done half scale.
It had to be squared off, it was too small to do as a rectangle, the longer side has to be at least two pattern repeats longer then the shorter side.
From each corner 45 degree lines are draw into the centre then I used a staff to mark a longer baton and used that to line up the centre tesserae on the corner lines.
The number of pattern repeats is in multiples of three as it is a triple strand.
