There is a limit to what you can do in a day with figure mosaics, but you can take just part of it and copy that. What you do need to do though is decide if you are going to do a piece for piece copy or what I term a template copy.
A template copy is where you just use outlines and then fill in the rest according to the picture in your head which will obviously be based on the original.
Two reasons to work in the second way;
1. It teaches you how to work in a way that allows you to follow a picture in your head rather than 'mosaic by numbers'.
2. You learn to see what is important in the original mosaic. Where is the gaze directed? Are there lines of the limbs beneath the cloth and a lot more.
